Dorothy Sue (Starr) Marschall of Riviera, Texas, passed away on June 23, 2021, in Kingsville, Texas. She was born on August 10, 1947, in Lockhart, Texas, to Wallace Oran Starr and Dorothy Elizabeth (Cheatham) Starr. Sue Graduated from Lockhart High School in 1965.

She is preceded in death by her father, Wallace Oran Starr, mother, Dorothy Elizabeth Weeks, stepfather, Simrel Weeks, Sr., husband, James Dudley Marschall, son-in-law, Miguel (Mike) Mireles, sister, Billie Jean Bohanan, and stepbrother, Simrel Weeks, Jr.

Sue is survived by her three daughters, Karen (John) Tiemann of Monahans, Sheila (Toby) Saenz of Cypress, and Sherri Mireles of Monahans; one sister, Patricia Turner of Riviera, one stepsister, and three stepbrothers; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Sue loved to fish, garden, do arts and crafts, decorate cakes, and cook. Sue was known for her good cooking. She would always say that people did not know her by her name but that she was a “good cook”.

Sue and Dudley owned the Barn Door Restaurant in Riviera and was famous for their Chicken Fried Steak.

The family will receive condolences on Saturday, July 24, 2021, at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM; with a Prayer Service at 4:00 PM.
