Doris Wallis

Doris Mae Wallis, age 81, a resident of Kingsville, Texas passed away Friday, June 30, 2017 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was born December 31, 1935 to Frank Horak and Henrietta Olga Adamek in Ricardo, Texas at her parent's farm. She graduated from H.M. King High School in 1954. She was employed as a bookkeeper for V.T. Collins Construction until her death. Doris was a faithful member of Ricardo Baptist Church.
Mrs. Wallis was preceded in death on November 28, 2010 by her beloved husband, Morris Doug Wallis; and parents.
Doris is survived by two brothers, Edwin James Horak and wife Hazel of Temple, Texas and Billy Joe Horak and wife Alice Ann of Kingsville; three nephews, James Horak, Frank Horak and Billy Horak Jr.; and best friend and caregiver, Shirley Farek of Kingsville.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 6, 2017 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 6, 2017 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Buddy Joyner officiating. Burial will follow in Kingsville at Chamberlain Cemetery.
Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.
