Doris LaNelle Remmers went to be with the Lord on February 27, 2015. She was born Sept. 29, 1926 in Austin, Texas the daughter of William Forrest and Emma Sassman. She was married first to Henry Wallner deceased and second to Alton Remmers Sr.
She was a devoted Mother and Wife. Doris taught school for 38 years before retiring from the Kingsville ISD. She was a member of the Kingsville Evening Garden Club, Bridge Club, Women's Club, Zeta Tau Alpha, Delta Kappa Gamma and DAR. She was also a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. After retirement she worked at the library with the literacy program.
Doris is survived by her husband of 48 years Alton Remmers Sr., her son Hal Wallner and wife Sharon of Spring; son Louis Wallner and wife Diana of Spring; Alton Remmers Jr and wife Rhonda of Kingsville; Barbara Bond and Larry Timmons of Midland; Grandchildren Michelle Sorensen, Jeremy Wallner, Janet Wallner, Wesley Wallner and wife Danielle, Kari Wallner, Holly Wallner, Jason Remmers, Kristin and her husband Jason Marcheck, and 4 great-grandchildren.
The family lovingly acknowledges the care and support of her caregivers, Noemi Faragosa, Hope Salinas, Cortney Stewart, Sandra Anderson, Gloria Garcia and Reica Bedford.
Visitation will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, March 2, 2015 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 401 West King Avenue, Kingsville. Burial will follow in Kingsville at Chamberlain Cemetery.
Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.
