Donald M. Cooper, age 70, a resident of Kingsville, Texas passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2015 in Kingsville. He was born August 17, 1944 in Kilgore, Texas to Dalton Morris Cooper and Mary Elizabeth Pitner Cooper. Donald was a graduate of Paschal High School, Fort Worth, Texas and attended Texas Tech College, Lubbock, Texas. He was employed for Exxon/Mobil for 38 ½ years until his retirement. Donald was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam Era. Mr. Cooper was a member of the First United Methodist Church, American Legion Post 185, Bishop, Elks Lodge and Masonic Lodge.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years of marriage, Barbara J. Cooper of Kingsville; one daughter, Tracy Stecher (Jim) of Cibolo, Texas; one stepdaughter, Heather Schroeder (Chip) of Newburgh, Indiana; one brother, James Ray Cooper (Zada) of Fort Worth, Texas; one grandson, Matthew Stecher; and four granddaughters, Lauren, Katie, Madolyn and Allyson Schroeder.
Visitation will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Monday, August 17, 2015 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 17, 2015 at Chamberlain Cemetery with Dr. Harold Onwilder officiating. Military Honors provided by the Veterans of Kleberg County Funeral Military Detail will take place after the graveside service. A reception will take place at the Elks Lodge after the graveside service.
Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.
