Domingo V. Garcia, a beloved family man whose warmth and kindness touched the hearts of all who knew him, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2025, at the age of 91. Born on January 7, 1934, Domingo led a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished moments.
Throughout his career, Domingo dedicated himself to serving others, he was enlisted in the Army National Guard on December 9, 1952, and served his country until his honorable discharge on December 8, 1955. As a retired chef for Texas A&I University, he brought joy and nourishment to countless students. His culinary skills were complemented by his evening work as a mechanic at Conoco Service Station, showcasing his multifaceted talents and strong work ethic. However, it was in the embrace of his family where Domingo truly found his joy.
A devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Domingo cherished every moment spent with his family, particularly during the holidays when laughter and love filled the air. He was not just a family man; he embodied the spirit of what family means. His easy-going nature and kind heart made him a pillar of support for those fortunate enough to know him. Domingo had a rare gift-an ability to welcome everyone with open arms. He had a great sense of humor, often lightening the atmosphere with his soft-spoken laughter.
In the quiet of his home, Domingo found his happiness. He looked forward to great barbecues with his family on weekends, where stories were shared, and memories were created. It was in those simple yet profound moments that relationships were strengthened, and the bonds of love were fortified. Domingo was proud of his family; they were his greatest accomplishment, and he took every opportunity to express his admiration and love for them.
His easy-going nature and kind heart touched many lives, as he approached each day with a simple joy that resonated deeply with those he encountered. Domingo V. Garcia will be remembered for his gentle spirit and the warmth he brought to the world-a light that will continue to shine in the hearts of his family and friends.
Domingo was preceded in death by his parents, Hilario and Antonia (Villanueva) Garcia; siblings Reynaldo Garcia, Hilario Garcia, Jr., Tomasa Trevino, Dora Vera, Esperanza Mayorga, and Consuelo Gutierrez.
