Della Long

Della Faye Burkett Long, age 72, a resident of Kingsville, Texas passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2015 in Kingsville. She was born October 16, 1942 in Cameron, Texas to Clifton Wiese and Anna Doris Stevens Wiese. She was the department head of the utility department of city of Kingsville. She was a former president of the American Little League.
Della was preceded in death by two husbands, Wilmer Burkett Jr. and George Long; two daughters, Crickett Freeman and Penny Burkett; and brother, Benjamin Wiese.
She is survived by two sons, Robert Burkett of Houston, Texas and Wilmer Burkett (Dalas) of College Station, Texas; two brothers, Clifton Wiese of Arkansas and Calvin Wiese of Ohio; three sisters, Shirley Brzenski of Kingsville and Carolyn Kuhn (Charles) and Linda Waller (Billy), both of Carlsbad, Texas; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 14, 2015 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 14, 2015 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. Burial will follow in Kingsville at Chamberlain Cemetery.
Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.
