Delfina Garza

Delfina H. Garza, born March 27, 1952, peacefully passed away on November 15, 2024, surrounded by her family and love.

A devout Catholic, Delfina was a faithful and active member of St. Martin's and St. Joseph's Catholic Churches in Kingsville, Texas. Her unwavering faith shaped her life, leading her to countless acts of kindness, volunteerism, and prayerful devotion. Delfina’s dedication to her faith and community was an inspiration to all who knew her.

Delfina will forever be remembered as a woman of immense strength, boundless compassion, and unshakable faith. Her spirit and unconditional love touched the hearts of all blessed to know her.

She is survived by her loving son, O.J. Garza, and his wife, Michelle, who provided her with unwavering care during her courageous battle with cancer. She also leaves behind her beloved granddaughter, Riley Garza, who brought endless pride and joy to her heart, and her cherished daughter-in-law, Ashley De La Rosa, who held a special place in her family. Her legacy of love and compassion lives on through her siblings and their families: Gloria (John)Johnson, Juan Hinojosa, Jerry (Priscilla) Hinojosa, Teri (Albert)Funk, Diana (Eddie)Ochoa, David (Thelma) Hinojosa.

Her memory is reunited in heaven with her husband, Jaime Garza; her son, Robert Eric Garza; her parents, Rosa and Juan Hinojosa; and in-laws Raul and Oralia Garza. 

The family will receive condolences from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, with a holy rosary to be recited in her honor at 6:00 PM. A funeral mass will follow on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at 10:00 AM at St. Martin's Catholic Church, with interment at Santa Gertrudis Cemetery. The family invites all who loved Delfina to join in celebrating her remarkable life and faith.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to support ovarian cancer research or to a charity of your choice in Delfina’s memory.
