Dee Leelani

Dee Leelani, age 78, a resident of Kingsville, Texas for 40 years passed away Thursday, March 2, 2017 in Kingsville. She was born May 25, 1938 in Akron, Ohio to Frank and Ruby Chilson. She was a registered nurse, a Texas Mounted Patrol, clergy for the Kleberg County Sheriff's Department and proud owner of THE WHITE ELEPHANT where she donated many of her store items to anybody who needed it. She was known in the community for providing numerous spiritual guidance to many.
She was preceded in death by her parents; nine brothers; and one grandson.
Dee is survived by her husband, Dr. Pat Leelani of Kingsville; three daughters, Renee (Dave) Pratt, Rhonda Peterson and Roslyn Peterson, and one son, Mark "Popeye" Peterson, all of Akron, Ohio; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
A gathering of family and friends will take place from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, March 4, 2017 with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at THE CROSS (FORMERLY THE WHITE ELEPHANT), 109 North Armstrong, Kingsville, Texas. Refreshments will be served during the gathering.
Local arrangements entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.
