Debra A. Ivy Franklin

Debra “Debby” Franklin, age 72, entered into her heavenly home after a short illness on Wednesday, October 25, 2023. She was born May 1, 1951, in Kingsville, Texas to Eugene and Margie Ivy.

Debby grew up in Kingsville, Texas, graduated from HM King High School and attended Texas A&I University. She loved reading, working in her yard, deer hunting in her younger years and walking her dog, Princess. Debby was a devoted mother and grandmother and was happiest in a house full of kids. Her oldest grandson, Blake, named her Nina, which is what she is called most often these days. She loved being Nina to her grandkids and their friends. She was the Nina to every baseball player, football player and volleyball player on her grandkid’s teams. On top of a schedule filled with sporting events, Debby had many adventures with her grandkids. Disney trips, cavern touring, and Schlitterbahn were among her favorites. Nina was always up for a shopping trip and a lunch date. She will be greatly missed by all that loved her.

Debby is survived by her son, Mark (Kristen) Franklin, and daughter Michelle (Bart) Dupont, along with her very devoted little brother David (Susan) Ivy. Debby is also survived by her three beloved grandchildren Blake, Cade and Sarah Dupont, along with those she considered sisters, Sug Roller, Kay West and Linda Gayle Geeslin.

A visitation will be held at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary on Saturday, October 28, 2023, from 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.; with a Eulogy and Prayer Service at 5:00 p.m. Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 29, 2023, at Oakview Cemetery in Mullin, Texas.
