John David Yeary entered into eternal rest on Friday, July 10, 2015 in Corpus Christi, Texas at the age of 76 following a long illness. He was born on October 1, 1939 to Dew Yeary and Mary Yeary of Kingsville. David was a Riviera High School grad of the class of 1957. He earned his Business Administration Degree at Texas A&I Kingsville, Texas. He was a devoted husband and was especially proud of his children and grandchildren. He retired from Exxon as Field Plant Superintendent in 1995 after 30 years of service. He was very active in the Roman Catholic Church including Our Lady of Consolation in Vattmann, St. Gertrude's in Kingsville, Our Lady of Refuge in Refugio and Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, Corpus Christi. All of his life he served as alter server, Extra Ordinary Minister, and in many other volunteer activities for over 30 years. He also served as a foster parent for 10 years. He enjoyed his cattle and farming operations and gardening.
David is survived by his wife, Evelyn of 56 years; three children, Patrick (Tracy) Yeary of Aransas Pass, Joan (Kevin) Pfister of Victoria and Tom (Kathy) Yeary of Corpus Christi; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Mike (Nancy)Yeary; and sister, Shirley (Bob) Bevill. He is also survived by many nephews, nieces, and friends.
David was very trustworthy and fair, and was quick to form endearing friendships.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to your favorite church or charity.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday, July 13, 2015 at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel in Kingsville with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at St. Gertrude's Catholic Church in Kingsville. Burial will follow in Kingsville at Chamberlain Cemetery.
Arrangements are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.
