Dalia Salazar passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 in San Antonio, Texas. She was born in Kingsville, Texas to Taurino and Manuela Salazar. Dalia graduated from Texas A&I (TAMUK) with a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science. She taught 49 years; 27 years in KISD and the remaining years at after retirement at Epiphany Episcopal, St. Martin of Tours, and Sarita ISD.
She was a member of the Gethsemane Presbyterian Church where she started playing the piano when she was 11 years old until 2016. Dalia also taught vacation bible school, was an elder, and a member of the construction building committee of the church that was built in 1957.
Her favorite Psalm was 91 which she used to recite every evening both in Spanish and English. Only a month ago she would not recite it entirely, but she was able to remember the first verse.
She loved to dance and in Kingsville she was known to be an excellent dancer. Her priority and joy were to serve God; the Lord came in first for everything in Dalia’s life. Rest in Peace Miss Salazar.
She was preceded in death by her beloved aunt, Conrada Garza.
Dalia is survived by her long-life friend, Eva de León, cousin, Carlos del Moral and other cousins, her beloved J. Diego Vázquez-Cruz, Ana, Miriam, and Andy who were close to her heart and had joy when she was with them. The Vázquez-Landeros was her family. They always brought Dalia so much love.
