Cindy Mooney, age 67, a resident of Kingsville, Texas passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family and friends, Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at her residence. She was born October 28, 1947 in Kingsville to Arnold Newsom and Etta Lee Thurmond Newsom. Mrs. Mooney retired from Agua Dulce C.I.S.D. as a Special Ed Teacher/Diagnostician after 25 years of employment. Then she was currently working as a Diagnostician for Bishop C.I.S.D. for the past 11 years.
Cindy was preceded in death by her loving husband of 39 years, Ray Mooney; and parents.
Cindy and Ray were involved with Little League for over 46 years. She was a District Administrator and also on the State board. She loved being involved with Little League. Cindy was a devoted member of Christ United Methodist Church.
She is survived by two sons, Van (Blake) Mooney and Jimmie Mooney, both of Kingsville, Texas; two grandchildren, Delanie Mooney and Case Mooney, both of Kingsville, Texas; one sister, Sandra Hicks of Kingsville, Texas.
Visitation will take place from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Sunday, February 22, 2015 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. Family will be receiving friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Funeral Service will take place at 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 23, 2015 at Christ United Methodist Church, Kingsville. Burial will follow in Kingsville at Chamberlain Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Christ United Methodist Church of Kingsville, 1120 Senator Carlos Truan Blvd., Kingsville, Texas 78363.
Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd, Kingsville, Texas.
