Cecil Mcbride

Cecil Donavan Don McBride, age 93, a resident of Kingsville, Texas passed away Friday, January 3, 2014 in Kingsville. He was born November 25, 1920 in Kingsville to James Thomas McBride and Jessie McGuffin McBride. Don was a graduate of Texas AI Kingsville. Mr. McBride was employed for Exxon until his retirement. He was an active member of First Christian Church Disciples of Christ. Don was an Army Veteran of World War II serving overseas for 2 years.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Grace McBride.
Don is survived by his son, Mike McBride of Port Mansfield, Texas three grandchildren, Brandon McBride and Casey McBride Simmons, both of League City, Texas and Patrick McBride of Clear Lake, Texas and one greatgranddaughter, McKenna Grace Simmons.
Visitation will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, January 6, 2014 at the TurcottePiper Mortuary with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at First Christian Church, 1900 South Brahma Blvd., Kingsville, with Rev. Terry L. Neel officiating. Burial will take place at Chamberlain Cemetery with full military honors provided by the Veterans of Kleberg County Military Funeral Detail.
