Carolyn K. Elias, age 87, a resident of Kingsville, Texas passed away Friday, April 14, 2017 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was born November 12, 1929 in San Antonio, Texas to James Smead Kilgore and Edna Warren Kilgore. Mrs. Elias was the owner of Oliver's Jewelry Store from 1958 to 2000 and her legacy continues through Oliver's which still operates in its original location on Kleberg Street. Mrs. Elias was one of the first female business owners in Kingsville. Carolyn was a familiar friend and a generous benefactor to the Kingsville community for 60 years, and will be missed by many.
She was preceded in death by two husbands, August F. Elias and John H. Oliver; three sons, John F. Oliver, James W. Oliver and Kurt W. Elias; parents; and brother, Charles "Buddy" Kilgore.
Mrs. Elias is survived by two sons, Jack O. Oliver of Kingsville and Jeffrey W. Oliver of San Antonio, Texas; one daughter, Sharon J. Elias of Santa Fe, New Mexico; and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 21, 2017 at King Star Baptist Church. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 21, 2017 at King Star Baptist Church with Rev. James Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Chamberlain Cemetery and be attended by immediate family.
Family will receive friends and visitors at 4:00 p.m. April 21 at 310 Helen Marie.
Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.
