Calvin Bast

Calvin Ray Bast, age 86, a resident of Kingsville, Texas passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2014 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born January 20, 1928 in Falfurrias, Texas to Thomas A. Bast and Addie B. Roberson Bast. Calvin was employed for CPL as a line foreman until his retirement. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and past elder and deacon of the church. Mr. Bast was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II and Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Loretta A. Bast brother, Curtis L. Bast and parents.
Mr. Bast is survived by his wife of 61 years of marriage, Grace L. Bast of Kingsville one daughter, Vicki S. Bast of Mineral, Texas two sons, Ross A. Bast of Corpus Christi, Texas and Bill A. Bast and wife Leah of Victoria, Texas one sister, Jo Ann Nichols and husband Nelson R. of Mineral, Texas one granddaughter seven grandsons and two greatgranddaughters.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 27, 2014 at the First Presbyterian Church, 302 W. Kleberg St., Kingsville, with Rev. Chuck Miller officiating.
