Bob Fischer

LCDR Bob Fischer Ret. passed away Thanksgiving morning, November 27, 2014 at the age of 80. Bob was born April 1934 in Oakland, California. He grew up in Albany, California where he met his best friend and the love of his life, Janice. They were married on April 8, 1956.
Bob joined the U.S. Navy in 1954 and attended Post Graduate School in Monterrey, California. He transferred to NAS Kingsville with his family in 1970 and retired in 1976. Following his Naval retirement, Bob was a Simulator Instructor at NAS Kingsville for 29 years. He was a tough instructor but he felt that it was his responsibility to ensure that pilots he worked with were taught well so that they could handle their aircraft properly and return to their families.
Bob was an active member of St. Gertrudes Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Janice, four daughters, Barbara and Kathy, both of Sugar Land, Susie from Corpus Christi and Laurie from Frisco, twin brother, George Fischer, sister, Joan Myrick, and eight grandchildren.
A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at the TurcottePiper Mortuary Chapel. A Memorial Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at St. Gertrudes Catholic Church.
Services are entrusted to TurcottePiper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.
