Billy Joe Woolsey

Billy Joe Woolsey, passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at the age of 86. He proudly served in the United States Navy during Vietnam, before retiring with 20+ years of service; and was a valued employee of K.A. Childs Ford for many years thereafter. Billy was a very proud and loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle & loyal friend to many; he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Irene Woolsey; parents, Joe and Vera Woolsey; siblings, Violet Woolsey, Josephine Lusk, Wanda Cottle, Virginia Prince, and Mary Johnson.

Among those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Lisa Ann Zunker and Michelle Woolsey; siblings, Dorothy Jean Curtis and Dianna Richards; grandchildren, Adriana Mata, Joey Castro, Joaquin Basaldu, Randall Joseph Zunker, Mack Zunker, Tynzli Zunker; great-granddaughter, Penelope Reyes; and numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends.

The family will receive condolences from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary; with military honors and chapel service to begin at 1:00 PM. A Rite of Committal will take place at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery, Corpus Christi, TX.
