Billye Mcdaniel

Billye Loyce McDaniel, age 81, a resident of Kingsville, Texas passed away, Friday, July 10, 2015 in Kingsville, Texas. She was born June 9, 1934 in Luling, Texas to Lois "Rock" Johnson and Willie B. Harwell Johnson. She was well known in the Kingsville community. She graduated from H. M. King High School in 1952, worked at Santa Gertrudis Breeders Association, Shelton Ranches, and Texas A&M University-Kingsville. She retired from TAMUK in 2004. She was big into rodeos and she was quite the river rat sharing her time with her beloved friends. Billye Loyce was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Norris Raymond Johnson (Corky); and, son, Thomas Neal McDaniel. She is survived by one sister, Sandy Johnson Nix (Dwayne); one son, Jackie Lee McDaniel (Jamey); one daughter, Kathryn Lynne McDaniel; five grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Blue Cure Foundation, P. O. Box 22044, Houston, Texas 77227 to assist in prostate cancer research. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, July 13, 2015 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary in Kingsville, Texas. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel where service will conclude. Condolences may be offered at www.turcottepipermortuary.com.
