Betty Jane Collier

Betty J. Collier, 67, went to be with our Heavenly Father on May 27, 2020 with her family at her side. She was born on October 25, 1952 to Clarence and Nettie Fay Griffin Oster. After high school she graduated for Texas A&I and began her career working as the City Secretary of Driscoll and City Administrator of Bishop, Texas. She served as Nueces County Fire District 3 Commissioner. In 1998 she began working with Grant Work until recently. She was a choir director and organist at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Bishop, Texas for many years. Betty had an infectious laugh and was loved by everyone.

Betty is survived by her beloved sons, Kelley S. Collier (Tracy) of Corpus Christi, Texas and Corey B. Collier of Bishop, Texas; two brothers, Larry Oster (Connie) and Ronnie Oster (Jamie); four grandchildren, Harley Collier, Shawn P. Collier, Brendan L. Collier and Jaxon D. Collier, numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2020 at 1p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bishop, Texas with a Funeral Service to follow at 2p.m. that same day. Interment to follow at Concordia Cemetery.

Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd. Kingsville, Texas 78363.
