Betty Moos, age 88, a resident of Kingsville, Texas and a longtime former resident of Alice, Texas passed away Thursday, May 21, 2015 in Kingsville. She was born June 5, 1926 in Kerrville, Texas to Edwin H. Heimann Sr. and Edna Ruff Heimann. She was graduate of Mission High School, Mission, Texas in 1944 and became a chief telephone operator, Corpus Christi, Texas until her retirement in 1984 after 37 years of devoted service. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, St. Elizabeth Altar Society, St. Gertrude Catholic Church, Kingsville, and St. Gertrude Altar Society. Mrs. Moos was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers Club and the Kingsville Extension Education Association.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alton Moos; parents; three brothers, Chester Heimann, Eddie Heimann and Allan Heimann; and three sisters, Annie Catherine Truitt, Edna King and Lola M. LeLeux.
Mrs. Moos is survived by one daughter, Margie Truitt Kalinec (Charlie) of Kingsville. She was a beloved aunt to numerous nieces and nephews, Jason and Chele O'Neill of Alice and John LeLeux of Kennedy, Texas.
Visitation will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, May 24, 2015 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, May 24, 2015 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel, Kingsville. Visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 25, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 25, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Alice, with Msgr. Leonard Pivonka as celebrant. Burial will follow in Alice at Alice Cemetery.
