Betty Klassen

Betty Ann Klassen, age 86, a resident of Cypress, Texas and a former longtime resident of Kingsville, Texas passed away Thursday, September 4, 2014 in Cypress. She was born June 19, 1928 in Fordland, Missouri to Willie McHenry and Thomas Lawrence Grubaugh. Mrs. Klassen was employed at Kingsville State Bank until her retirement. Betty was a member of Kingsville First United Methodist Church United Methodist Women. Her greatest enjoyment came from caring for her children, grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, and devotion to her loving husband of 67 years, Irvin Red Klassen.
Mrs. Klassen was preceded in death by her husband her parents and two brothers, Sam and Bill Grubaugh. Betty is survived by one son, Thomas Earl Klassen and wife Christi of Houston, Texas one daughter, Mary Ann Smith and husband Dennis of Cypress four grandchildren, Laura Smith Wallington, Matthew Smith, Kelly Klassen and Melanie Klassen and five greatgrandsons.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 6, 2014 at First United Methodist Church, 120 North 4th Street, Kingsville, with Rev. Jim M. Curran officiating. All are invited to join the family for fellowship immediately following the funeral service in the Church Community Center. Private family graveside service will follow at Chamberlain Cemetery.
