Betty Gibson

Betty Jean Gibson, 90, passed away on August 22, 2020 in Georgetown, Tx. She was born on January 15, 1930 in Stroud, Oklahoma to James William Murray and Luella Bell Mashburn Murray. She was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church in Bishop, Tx where she devoted her time worshipping and volunteering on several occasions. She worked for the Civil Service as a Financial Clerk for the Kingsville NAS until her retirement. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, James William and Luella Bell Murray and her husband, Bobby Joe Gibson.

Betty is survived by her two daughters, Cheryl Lynn (Jim) Edwards of Zapata, Tx, and Joleen (Jerry) Lindsey of San Marcos, Tx, four grandchildren, Chris (Niki) Edwards of Hutto, Tx, Shelley (Tony) Moreno of Manvel, Tx, Wade Lindsey of Colorado Springs, Co, and Whitney (Nhan) Vo of Irving, Tx, ten great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild; two brothers, James Murray, and Monty Murray, and two sisters, Gerry Patrick and Flora Bartyzal, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary. Interment to follow at Restland Cemetery in Bishop.

Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd. Kingsville, Texas 78363.
