Benjamin Cruz

Benjamin P. De La Cruz, age 81, a resident of Kingsville, Texas passed away Wednesday, September 10, 2014 in Kingsville. He was born July 9, 1933 in the Philippines to Santiago S. De Los Santos De La Cruz and Macaria Parulan De La Cruz. Mr. De La Cruz was employed for the U.S. Navy for 20 years until his retirement. Afterwards, he was employed for McDonnell Douglas until his retirement. He was a member of St. Gertrudes Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and FilAm Club of Kingsville. Benjamin was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam Era.
He was preceded on August 17, 2013 by his beloved wife of 54 years of marriage, Norma Legaspi De La Cruz.
Benjamin is survived by three sons, Burt L. De La Cruz and wife Stephanie of Parker, Texas, Bern L. De La Cruz and wife Donna of Wylie, Texas and Bobb L. De La Cruz and wife Melissa of Corpus Christi, Texas one sister, Mila De La Cruz, three brothers, Jun, Romeo and Roger De La Cruz 11 grandchildren and one greatgrandson.
Visitation will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, September 15, 2014 at the TurcottePiper Mortuary Chapel. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Monday, September 15, 2014 at the TurcottePiper Mortuary Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at St. Gertrudes Catholic Church with Fr. James Stembler as celebrant. Graveside service with full military honors will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery, 9974 IH 37 Access Road, Corpus Christi, Texas.
Services are entrusted to TurcottePiper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.
