Barbara Cooper

Barbara Jean Cooper passed away on April 28, 2023, at the age of 70. She was born on February 10, 1953, to Tom and Doris Hale. She enjoyed traveling, baking, and collecting jewelry. Barbara was well known for her generous heart, her volunteer work and was a former president of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Barbara will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald “Don” Cooper; father, Tom Hale; mother, Doris Wise; and stepfather, QB Wise.

Among those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Heather Schroeder and son-in-law, Chip Schroeder; sisters, Linda (Greg) Danko and Sheila Buchanan; brothers, Steven Hale and Randy (Janice) Hale; granddaughters, Lauren (Andrew) Wurdeman, Katelyn (Jake) Freimiller, Madelyn (Josh) Brown, and Allyson Schroeder; great-grandson, Arlo Freimiller; great-granddaughter, Eowyn “Wynnie” Wurdeman; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

A chapel service will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary. A rite of committal and interment will follow at Chamberlain Cemetery.
