Baldemar "Jay R" Campos Jr.

Baldemar "Jay R" Campos Jr., 46, a devoted son, father and brother, passed away peacefully at Christus Sphon Shoreline Hospital in Corpus Christi surrounded by his loving family on Monday, April 21, 2025.

Born on October 30, 1978, in Beeville, to Sylvia (Galvan) Campos and Baldemar Campos, Sr., Jay R was known for his outgoing personality and his ability to be the life of the party. He was of the Catholic faith and was employed in the oilfield industry.

Jay R is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Valentine Campos Sr. and his maternal grandparents, Rodolfo Galvan Sr. and Estella M. Galvan.

Jay R was the cherished father of Baldemar "Tres" Campos III, Michelle Hernandez, Mia Jay Campos, Hannah Jo Campos and Alyssa Esquivel. His love for his children was evident in every aspect of his life.

He is also survived by his devoted parents, Sylvia and Baldemar Campos Sr.; his proud paternal grandmother, Margarita Campos; his brothers, Christopher Michael Campos and Joseph (Delinda) Campos; as well as one granddaughter, several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be held from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 26, at Turcotte-Piper Funeral Home in Kingsville with a Rosary to be recited at 2:30 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 3 o’clock that afternoon with Deacon Roger Rosenbaum officiating. A special message will be provided by George Cano Jr.

Burial will be private.

Honorary pallbearers will be Edward Paul Ortega, Gerald Campos, Marty Campos, Carlos Nunez, Roland Medina, George Cano Jr. and Steve Garcia.

Jay R Campos’ legacy lives on in the hearts of his children and family who will treasure every moment shared with him. He will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

Services are under the direction of Angelus Funeral Home in Beeville, as well as Turcotte-Piper Funeral Home in Kingsville.
