Antonio Jimenez, Jr.

On January 18, 2022, Antonio Jimenez, Jr. went home to be with our Lord and Savior.

I hope there are good horses up in heaven because the greatest cowboy ever, just got called home. Even if the horses are mean and the cattle meaner, the good Lord can rest assured that the best man for the job is there to set them straight.

Antonio was born September 22, 1930, in Falfurrias, TX., to the late Antonio Jimenez, Sr., and the late Tomasita A. Jimenez.

Antonio worked many years for the McGill’s, on the Santa Rosa Ranch, west of Riviera.

Antonio is proceeded in death by his parents, wife of sixty years, Dominga G. Jimenez; son, Jose A. Jimenez; Grandson, David Mendez, Jr.; brother Juan Jimenez; sisters, Julia Munoz, Maria Garcia, Tomasita Garcia; stepchildren, Dora Gaitan, Hector Gaitan, and Chon Gaitan.

Among those left behind to cherish his memory is his son Carlos (Mongo) Jimenez, daughter Maria G. (Lupita) (David) Mendez; sister, Adela (Jose) Soto; brothers, Rafael (Eloisa) Jimenez, Noberto (Esmeralda) Jimenez, Dario (Lydia) Jimenez; Grandchildren, Virginia (Ruben) Pena, Veronica J. Gunther, Michael (Monica) Mendez, Jennifer Lee J. Swink, Noe Gaitan, Ivan Gaitan, Patricio Gaitan, Damian Gaitan, Hector Gaitan Jr., Carlos Gaitan, Joel Gaitan, Virginia (Jason) Reynado; Great-grandchildren, Nisa (A.R) Longoria, Isaac David Mendez, Emma Amara Mendez, Sanora Gunther, Sarita Gunther; Great great-grandchild Levi Augustus Longoria, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive condolences on Thursday, February 3, 2022, at Turcotte- Piper Mortuary, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with a rosary to be recited at 6:00 PM. Services will conclude that evening.
