America Rios Salinas, 92, a loving and dedicated daughter, wife, mother, grandparent, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2016. Born in Rios, Texas to Jesus and Guadalupe Rios on March 4, 1924, she started her early life on a ranch. The family relocated to Roma where she helped to raise her siblings and support her family. Later as a resident of Kingsville, Corpus Christi, and Edinburg, she remained faithful to her husband of 65 years and her entire family. America lived life to the fullest and to the end was valiant and graceful. Always the life of every gathering, she brought her joyous outlook and positive attitude to all, with a smile that lit up the room. Always humble, honest, and caring, she approached each day with energy. Her passion for singing, dancing, gardening, humanity, and family were clearly evident. She was God's masterpiece who was a champion for our Christ with a heart after HIS own. A model of loyalty, she walked in faithful footsteps in her journey here on earth. We are comforted that she received the reward of inheritance as a servant of God.
