Amelia A. Pena, 80, passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 in Kingsville, Texas. She was born on April 2, 1940 in Kingsville, Texas to Guadalupe and Gregoria Pena.
Amelia will be greatly missed by all her family and friends. She is described as a wonderful, great and loving person by all who knew her. Her passion was her love, care and compassion for the elderly. Actively volunteering and visiting often the local nursing homes residents especially to share the “good news” of God’s word. She was an active member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses. An excellent gardener and cook, she was given the nickname of “Taco Lady” by her delicious homemade taquitos.
She is preceded in death by both her parents; stepfather, Joaquin De La Garza, Sr.; brothers, Oleomar Pena and Joaquin De La Garza, Jr.
Amelia is survived by her siblings, Marzulema Pena of Corpus Christi, Texas, Eloy De La Garza (Anna), Larry De La Garza (Judy), and Diana De La Garza all from Kingsville, Texas; stepchildren, Mike Revilla of Odem, Texas, Dora R. Garza of Falfurrias, Texas, and Daisy R. Rosas of La Joya, Texas; sister-in-law, Criselda De La Garza of Corpus Christi, Texas; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel with a chapel service to begin at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Chamberlain Cemetery.
Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortruary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd. Kingsville, Texas.
