Amelia Aleman

Amelia Alemán, 85, of Kingsville, Texas went home on January 26, 2025. 

Amelia embodied the spirit of excellence in everything she did. She proudly worked for the State of Texas for over 30 years. Among the other ways in which Amelia served her community, interacting with patients and their families as a member of the Pink Ladies Auxiliary at Spohn Kleberg Memorial Hospital was one that brought great joy to her heart. Amelia was also a devout member of St. Gertrude’s Catholic Church.

Amelia's life was defined by the ideals of faith, generosity, strength, and courage until her last breath. And although our mother, grandmother, sister, and friend will be missed dearly, her spirit of excellence and each ideal she embraced will continue to bless every life she touched.

Amelia was preceded in death by her father, José Eustacio Arguelles, mother, María M. Arguelles, and sister, Maria Elena Arguelles. 

She is survived by her two daughters, Yda Alemán and Laura (Mario) Alemán; her granddaughter, Nikki Aleman; her sister, Margarita Arguelles; and her brother, José Arguelles.

The family will receive condolences from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, February 7, 2025, at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary; with a holy rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A mass of christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at St. Gertrude Catholic Church. A rite of committal and interment will follow at Santa Gertrudis Memorial Cemetery.
