Mr. Amado De la Paz, Jr. of Kingsville, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2024, at the age of 75. He was born on November 20, 1948, in Kingsville, a town that he called home throughout his life.
Amado was a self-employed painter by trade, dedicated to his craft and the beauty he created through his work. His artistic talents showed through every stroke of the brush, leaving a legacy that will be cherished by all who were fortunate enough to witness it.
Those who knew Amado, will remember him for his unwavering strength of character and strong will. Despite these traits, he was a man of deep faith, finding comfort and guidance in his beliefs throughout his life's journey. Outside of work, Amado found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He had a passion for watching classic western movies and listening to oldies, finding solace and enjoyment in these cherished pastimes.
One of Amado's greatest treasures in life was his family and friends. He always made time to be with those he loved, creating lasting memories filled with warmth, laughter, and love. His presence will be deeply missed, and may his memory continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and cherished him.
He is preceded in death by his great-grandson, Leon Garza; parents, Amado Sr. and Olivia (Moreno) De La Paz; and brother-in-law, Jesus “Jesse” Garza.
Among those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 60 years, Guadalupe (Gonzalez) De La Paz; children, Eloy De La Paz, Norma De La Paz (Javier Rodriguez), Amado De La Paz, III., and Esteban De La Paz (Celeste); siblings, Robert De La Paz (Sylvia) and Sylvia (De La Paz) Garza; 19 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
The family will receive condolences from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Monday, August 12, 2024, at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary; with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. A chapel service will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary. A rite of committal and interment will follow at Santa Gertrudis Memorial Cemetery.
