Alonzo Lopez, Sr.

Alonzo Lopez Sr., age 90, a resident of Kingsville, Texas passed away Friday, December 26, 2014 in Kingsville. He was born September 7, 1924 in Zapata County, Texas to Eluterio Lopez and Evangelina Pena Lopez. Mr. Lopez was employed for Marcos Perez Lumber Company for 20 years. Afterwards he was employed for the city of Kingsville as a Building Official until his retirement. He was a Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus member. Mr. Lopez was an avid deer hunter all of his life.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elva G. Lopez.
Mr. Lopez is survived by one son, Alonzo Lopez Jr. Edna of Kingsville two daughters, Nelda Mills Rudy of Denton, Texas and Maria Cinda Alvarado of Corpus Christi, Texas one brother, Agustin Lopez of Kingsville one sister, Evangelina Pena of Kingsville seven grandchildren and seven greatgrandchildren.
Visitation will take place after 5:00 p.m. Monday, December 29, 2014 at the TurcottePiper Mortuary Chapel. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Monday, December 29, 2014 at the TurcottePiper Mortuary Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at St. Martins Catholic Church with Fr. Naul Ordonez as celebrant. Burial will follow in Kingsville at the Santa Gertrudis Cemetery.
