Alonzo G. Charles, born December 30, 1931 in Palito Blanco, TX to Manuel and Estefana Charles entered into eternal rest on June 20, 2020 at the age of 88 at his home in Kingsville, TX surrounded by his family.
He owned a successful construction company for 40 years. He also coached softball for 15 years and won many local and state championships as “Charlie’s Angels”. When he retired he enjoyed caring for his horses and making woodcrafts. He was a loving, caring and god fearing man who worked hard to provide for his family. He always took the time to talk and listen to anyone or to lend a helping hand when needed. He always had a big beautiful smile on his face.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Nazaria Charles, his sister Margarita Neer and brother Salomon Charles.
He is survived by four sons Jose (Martha) Charles, Juan Charles, Guadalupe Charles, Robert Charles. Three daughters Merida (Johnny Ramirez) Charles, Anna Charles, Terry (Rey Peralez) Charles. One brother Manuel Charles.
He had 11 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 from 5pm to 9pm. The rosary will be recited at 7pm at Turcotte-Piper Funeral Home in Kingsville, TX.
The funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, June 25, 2020 at 10am at St. Martin Catholic Church in Kingsville, TX.
Interment will follow at Chamberlain Cemetery with full military honors.
Services are in the care of Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd. Kingsville, Texas 78363.
