Alicia Leal

Alicia G. Leal, lovingly known as Licha or Mama Alice peacefully went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, December 13, 2022.

There are so many wonderful memories. Mom had a big heart for everyone. She loved to cook and bake for everyone. She touched the hearts of so many family and friends with her vibrant smile and personality.

Other than working at Allens Grocery as a bookkeeper, she was a loving and devoted grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. Alicia never missed her grandchildrens baseball games, soccer games, football games and band performances.

She is preceded in death by the love of her life, Delfino C. Leal; two children, Delfino R. Leal and Dariela Leal; her parents, Abraham and Josefina Gonzalez; two sisters, Amalia Gonzalez and Sara Dominguez; brother, Luis Gonzalez, and sister-in-law, Fina P. Gonzalez.

She is survived by her daughter, Diana Leal Ruiz, son, Delfino (Lynda) Leal, Rebecca Quintanilla, Abraham (Amelia) Gonzalez, Manuel ( Sulema) Gonzalez, Hector (Andrea) Gonzalez, Reynaldo Gonzalez, 6 grandchildren, Tres (Jenelle) Leal, David Daniel (Lauren) Leal , Dolores “Luckie” (Rusty) Sloane, JJ (Melissa) Ruiz, Laura (Stan) Jones, Liana (Michael) Abundo, 11 great grandkids, Laredo Rose Sloane, Brenham Sloane, Abilene Sloane, Ava Sofia Leal and Delfino Cuatro Leal, Finn Alexander Leal, Sebastian Ruiz- Pena, Landon Michael Abundo, Emma Alicia Abundo, Mila Jones, Ysabel Judith Jones. And several nieces, nephews and god children.

Alicia’s best friend Noelia Mendietta will conduct the rosary.

The family would like to thank ALL the special nurses of Lone Start Ranch Rehab, Christus Spohn hospital, and all the prayer warriors.

Pall bearers will be Tres Leal, David Leal, JJ Ruiz, Sebastian Ruiz Pena, Michael Abundo, and Stan Jones. Honorary Pall bearer RC Reyes.

Visitation will be on Friday, December 16, 2022, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, with a rosary at 10:00 AM. Funeral Mass will be at 12:00 PM at Our Lady of Good Counsel. Interment to follow at Santa Gertrudis Cemetery.
