Alex Perez

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Alex Perez (Thee Midnight Rider), as he lost his battle to Cancer on May 18, 2024 at the age of 66. He is preceded in death by his father Alvaro C. Perez and mother Eva Valadez (Perez) Kane.

Alex was born and raised in Kingsville who started his career as a local truck driver and expended his career to 25 years as a professional truck driver. He had the opportunity to see much of this beautiful USA countryside through the windshield of an eighteenth-wheeler and loved it. Alex decided to reinvent himself in 2006 and chanced his career to join the law enforcement world to serve and protect his beloved community. He served with honor and pride with Kleberg Co. and Kenedy Co. He ended his law-enforcement career as a proud KPD Active Reserve officer.

Alex was loved and will be sorely missed by his wife Lucia G. Perez, son Alex Perez Jr. (Rocky), granddaughters Gloria P. Alvarez (Mark) and Alexandra Perez and great-granddaughter Lucina Jane Alvarez. Alex is survived by his loving brothers Al Perez (Gary), Roel Perez (Gracie) and loving sister Amy Montgomery (Roger). Also left behind numerous nieces and nephews.

Alex kindness and selflessness know no limits and have left an everlasting impact. Through treasured memories and stories, he will be honored with profound love and gratitude.
