Alberto "Chubby" G. Garza Jr., age 62, a resident of Kingsville, Texas passed away Saturday, December 9, 2017 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was born October 8, 1955 in Kingsville to Alberto G. Garza Sr. and Herlinda Cantu Garza. Alberto was a 1974 graduate of H.M. King High School and a 1993 graduate of the University of Texas, San Antonio, Texas. Chubby was co-owner of Beto's Community Grocery. He was a member of St. Gertrude's Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus #2623.
Chubby was preceded in death by his parents, Alberto G. Garza Sr. and Herlinda Cantu Garza; and one sister, Consuelo Garza.
He is survived by his wife, Dalissa Garza of Kingsville; three daughters, Alissa Garza, Annette Garza and Allyson Brinkley (Nathan); one son, Albert Garza III; one brother, Juan Garza (Patsy); three sisters, Rosaelia Salinas (Andy), Christela Mendietta and Connie Martinez (Charlie); three grandchildren, Makenzie, Jaxon and Milah Brinkley; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Thursday, December 14, 2017 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, December 14, 2017 at St. Gertrude's Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 15, 2017 at St. Gertrude's Catholic Church with Fr. Joseph Lopez as celebrant. Burial will follow in Kingsville at Chamberlain Cemetery.
Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.
