Al Murray McGee left the earth at the age of 82. He was affectionately known as Pops. His passion was fishing and hunting. He was the second child born of a family of 10 children to Ada L. and Howard McGee St. He was born on the 28th day of September 1935 in Alexandria, Louisiana. He accepted Christ at an early age. As a child his family relocated to Kingsville, Texas. He attended Douglas Elementary here in Kingsville, Texas. He worked for South Texas Carpet until his health failed. He loved going fishing with family members and friends. He was a very caring man and always spoke what was on his mind. He also felt like he could repair anything and everything around the house.
Pops is welcomed to the heavenly skies by his parents, Ada L. and Howard McGee Sr., daughter, Jamel McGee, sisters, Florene Brown, Laurice White and Irene Robinson and brother, James Hill.
He leaves to cherish his memories: daughters, Beverly (Louis Bergen) McGee, and Alesia Wilson both of Kingsville, Texas. Sisters: Mary Shelton and Thelma Wallace both of Kingsville, Texas, and Ollie Faye Dunn of San Diego, California. Brothers: Augustus (Francis) McGee of Kingsville, Texas and Howard (Beatrice) McGee Jr. Of Wilmington, North Carolina, 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held on July 6, 2018 at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held on July 7, 2018 at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary at 11:00 a.m.
Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd. Kingsville, Texas.
