Heaven gained another angel on December 23rd. Our sweet Adrian “Bubba” Salazar, a remarkable young man, whose strength and resilience served as an inspiration to all who knew him, was called back to God at the young age of 19. Born on February 18th, 2004, Bubba faced challenges from the very beginning of his life. Diagnosed with autism at the tender age of three and diabetes at four, Bubba approached these life changes with an unwavering smile on his face.
Bubba's life may have been cut short, but it was full of love and laughs. He spoke his mind, not worrying about what people would think, which led to many stand out moments of laughter. He was an extremely intelligent young man and had a memory that would make an elephant jealous. Bubba’s creativity was a gift to us all. He had a collection of impressively accurate homemade figurines and drawings. He also loved to collect anything related to superheroes, dinosaurs, and most recently, indie video game franchises with unique characters. He always made sure his collections were displayed according to his vision. If anything in his room was moved, Bubba knew and would let you know to fix it.
His favorite holidays were Halloween and Christmas. Every Halloween he would work with his loved ones to create his very own costume, usually some new character from Bendy and the Ink Machine. It was something he looked forward to every year and his holiday spirit will be remembered as no less than infectious to those around him. He didn’t care to trick or treat, but loved to pass out candy and high five the kids that recognized his costumes. He also looked forward to Christmas every year, knowing his collections would grow. He never asked for anything big or fancy, just thinking of him enough to get him a collectable was enough to make his spirit bright, which in turn made every Christmas magical. It breaks our hearts that he was taken before Christmas this year, but we find comfort knowing his first heavenly Christmas was just as magical.
Preceding Bubba in death is his loving grandmother, Oralia Alegria, who awaits his arrival in Heaven with open arms and unconditional love.
He leaves behind an immeasurable void in the lives of those who adored him including his devoted Mother Elda Alegria, sisters Ariel Ozuna (Roel Tovar) and Aracely Salazar, grandfather Jose Alegria, father Jackie Salazar, as well as numerous adoring aunts, uncles, and cousins who cherished him dearly. His cousins, who Bubba saw as brothers; Horacio Rodriguez, Jose (J.M.) Alegria, Jacob Alegria, Roberto (L.B.) Alegria, Omar Garcia, Alejandro Garza, and Adan Garza, will have the honor of serving as pallbearers during these difficult times.
To celebrate Bubba's life and offer our final farewells, visitation services will be held at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary on January 2nd, 2024, beginning at 9:00 AM. Following this, the holy rosary will be recited at 10:00 AM, culminating in the final Funeral Service at 11:00 AM.
Adrian "Bubba" J. Salazar may have had a life that was cut short, but his impact resonates deeply within our hearts. As we bid him farewell, let us remember him for the strength he possessed, the love he radiated, and the laughter he gifted to us all. May his spirit find eternal peace as he embarks on his next great adventure beyond the stars.
