Adela De Leon Garza, a beloved sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on November 27, 2023, in Kingsville, Texas. She was born on November 3, 1934, to Rosa De Leon Garza and Regino De Leon. Adela had a gentle soul that radiated warmth and kindness. Family was always at the center of her life. She took great joy in spending time with her loved ones and ensuring their happiness. Adela's nurturing nature made her the heart of family gatherings and celebrations.
In addition to her deep dedication to family, Adela possessed a natural talent for arts and crafts. Her creative spirit knew no bounds as she delved into various artistic pursuits. Whether it was baking delicious treats or creating intricate needlepoint designs, she poured her heart and soul into every project. She had an exceptional talent for knitting and crocheting beautiful pieces that became cherished by her family. Her needlework creations were admired for their intricacy and attention to detail. Adela also expressed her artistic flair through painting. One of the highlights of her artistic repertoire was her ability to create stunning flower arrangements that captivated all who beheld them. Each delicate bloom she arranged seemed to convey a story of its own. Additionally, she showcased her creativity in designing exquisite miniature doll dresses that captured the imagination of both young and old alike. Adela also designed unique and eye-catching purses. Her purses were more than just functional accessories; they were works of art. Adela's talent for incorporating different materials and textures into her designs made each bag a true statement piece. She willingly shared her creative talents with those around her. She took great pleasure in teaching her nieces the art of baking, knitting, and crocheting. Adela's patience and gentle guidance nurtured a new generation of artists within her family, creating bonds that will never be forgotten.
The memory of Adela Deleon Garza will forever remain etched in the hearts and minds of all those whose lives she touched. Her legacy as a devoted sister, aunt, and friend lives on through the cherished memories and beautiful crafts she created. As we gather to honor her life, let us celebrate the remarkable woman she was and find solace in knowing that her spirit will continue to inspire us all.
Adela is preceded in death by her parents Rosa De Leon Garza and Regino De Leon, and siblings Bertha De Leon, Martha De Leon, Antelia Lozano, Leonel De Leon, and Delfino De Leon.
Adela will be deeply missed by her surviving brothers Alejandro and Arturo, as well as numerous extended family members including nieces, nephews, and cousins. She will forever be fondly remembered by her immediate and extended family. The family would also like to express their gratitude for the care provided by the staff at Lonestar Ranch & Rehab and Harbor Hospice.
Friends and family are invited to attend the visitation services on December 7, 2023, at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary in Kingsville, Texas. The visitation will take place from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with the holy rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. Additionally, there will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on December 8, 2023, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church at 10:00 AM. Following the Mass, Adela will be laid to rest at Santa Gertrudis Cemetery in Kingsville at 11:15 AM.
In remembrance of Adela De Leon Garza's life filled with love, creativity, and warmth, may we find comfort in our shared memories as we bid farewell to this remarkable woman who has left an indelible mark on our souls. May she rest in eternal peace.
