Adan G. De La Rosa Sr., age 78, a resident of Kingsville, Texas passed away Saturday, September 21, 2013 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was born October 17, 1934 in Sarita, Texas to Luis De La Rosa Sr. and Dominga Garza De La Rosa. Mr. De La Rosa was known throughout the United States as being part of the conjunto music industry. He was part of the famous Tony De La Rosa Conjunto and was inducted into the Conjunto Music Hall of Fame.
He was preceded in death by his parents wife, Antonia Chicken De La Rosa one sister, Esmeralda Rubalcaba and two brothers, Tony De La Rosa and Luis De La Rosa.
Mr. De La Rosa is survived by two daughters, Minnie De La Paz Ramiro and Thelma De La Rosa, both of Kingsville five sons, Adan De La Rosa Jr. and Eloy De La Rosa Melinda, both of Kingsville, Adam Ruiz and Adrian Ruiz, both of Phoenix, Arizona, and Rene Ramiro Rangel of Kingsville one brother, Alfredo De La Rosa Brenda of Kingsville five sisters, Emma Prado, Herlinda San Miguel and Evangelina De La Rosa, all of Riviera, Texas, Elida Ruiz Bobby and Connie De La Rosa Pete, both of Kingsville 15 grandchildren and 22 greatgrandchildren.
Visitation will take place from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Thursday, September 26, 2013 at the TurcottePiper Mortuary Chapel. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 26, 2013 at the TurcottePiper Mortuary Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 27, 2013 at St. Martins Catholic Church with Fr. Jose Naul Ordonez as celebrant. Burial will follow in Kingsville at the Santa Gertrudis Cemetery.
