Etelina Gonzales

Etelina “Lina” G. Gonzales, age 76, went to be with the Lord on April 27, 2020, with her family by her side. Lina was born on October 28, 1943, to Daniel L. Garcia and Leonor Hinojosa Garcia in Kingsville, TX. She was a retired self-employed cosmetologist and a longtime member of St Joseph’s Catholic Church. Lina was devoted to her family and enjoyed being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her memory will be cherished by all who loved her.

Lina is preceded in death by her husband, Benito Gonzales Jr. on January 18th, 2009. She is also preceded by her parents; 3 brothers, Daniel H. Garcia Jr., George H. Garcia and Gustavo H. Garcia; one brother-in-law, Armando Mando Salinas.

Lina is survived by her son, Eugene (Criselda) Gonzalez; 2 sisters, Gloria G. Salinas and Linda G. (Gilberto) Pequeño; 7 grandchildren,5 great-grandchildren, numerous Uncles, Aunts, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and a host of friends.

Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. Friday, May 1, 2020, at Turcotte Piper Mortuary on a rotation of 10 people at a time, with a rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m. that evening and will be live-streamed on Facebook. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2020, at Turcotte Piper Mortuary and will be live-streamed on Facebook. Burial will follow in Rios, Texas at the Gonzalez Cemetery.
