I served in the Navy.

Rene Alejandro Cantu Jr, age 26, went to be with our Lord on July 11, 2018. Rene was born on January 17, 1992 in Kingsville, TX to Rene Cantu Sr. and Amy Dalton. Rene was a resident of Kingsville, TX, where he graduated from HM King High School. After graduating from HM King, Rene decided to dedicate himself to the U.S. Navy. He was a Petty Officer Third Class, and worked in security as a Master of Arms. He was a devoted family man, and loved spending time with his family members. He also enjoyed cruising on his motorcycle. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his great grandfather Daniel Cantu Sr, and also his grandparents Daniel Cantu Jr, and Roy Dale Dalton. He is survived by his wife Amanda Cantu; parents, Rene Cantu Sr (Elena) and Amy Dalton; siblings, Kayla Pena, Evan Cantu, Rebecca Cantu, Roy Cantu (Isabel), Brittany Cantu, Luisa Cantu, Brandon Shalhoub, and Daniela Cantu; great- grandma, Minerva Cantu, and grandparents, Herlinda Cantu, Gavanda Cadena (Eddie); uncles, Victor Cantu (Teresita), and Kenneth Dalton (Gabriella); great aunt, Delia Benavides and three aunts, Casey Daniels, Alison Hernandez (Daniel), and Jessica Temple (Dustin); nephews, Roy Cantu Jr, Brayden Pena, Daniel Zarate III, and Maxx Zarate; nieces Mikayla and Jordan Cantu; cousins, Omar Cantu (Laila), Daniel Cantu, Benjamin Cantu, Emma Cantu, and Lola Cantu.
Visitation will be held on Thursday July 19, 2018 at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a prayer service to be held that same evening at 7:00 p.m. Graveside service will be held Friday July 20, 2018 at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. with military honors. Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd. Kingsville, Texas
