Ysauro “Y.G.” Garcia, age 88, a resident of Kingsville, Texas passed away Saturday, March 31, 2018 in Kingsville. He was born November 29, 1929 in Kingsville to Jorge Pena Garcia and Fidela Guerra Garcia. Ysauro was a 1950 graduate of H.M. King High School. He was employed by Goodyear Service Store for 29 years until his retirement. Ysauro was a faithful member of the 4th degree Knights of Columbus Council 2623. He was also a faithful member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church.
Y.G. was preceded in death by his son, George A. Garcia; three sisters, Santos Garcia, Hermila Garcia and Zulema Martinez (late Nazario); and two brothers, Heberto Garcia (late Ofelia) and Fidel Garcia (late Lydia).
Ysauro is survived by his wife of 64 years of marriage, Alma T. Garcia of Kingsville; three children, Hector T. Garcia, D.D.S., of Corpus Christi, Texas, Deborah T. Garcia, D.D.S., (Harold D. Williams) of Missouri City, Texas and Larry T. Garcia of Kingsville; one grandson, Adrian Garcia Williams of Oxford, Mississippi; one daughter-in-law, Cindy Wells Garcia of McAllen, Texas; and numerous sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 5, 2018 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. Rosary will be recited by Deacon Salvador Alvarado at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 5, 2018 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 6, 2018 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church with Fr. Peter Thenan as celebrant. Burial with full military honors provided by the Veterans of Kleberg County Funeral Military Detail will follow in Kingsville at Chamberlain Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearer will be Nerio Martinez. Active pallbearers will be Paul Garcia, Delmero Garcia, Salvador Alvarado, Martin Alvarado, William D. Garza and Randy Garza.
Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.
