Thank you Neely family for sharing Lightning with Noel Crawford and I. Thank you for all the amazing meals and desserts that you prepared for all of us at "The Lodge" to enjoy. The Nilghi, dirty rice, King Ranch chicken and poppy seed cakes to name a few treats. Lightning's cooking always warmed our hearts and the spaces behind our belly buttons. He always had a smile and the gift of gab. I have spent many days during rifle season just slipping through the quakies with Lightning and measuring our hunting skills against the elusive elk.
My thoughts and prayers are with you. My memories of Lightning will always be with me.

For years my husband and I took Mary Weiss across the highway onto her land to feed her two beloved bulls. Many times the grass was high making her roads difficult to maneuver. Mary would tell me and Mike not to worry because she would call Lightnin to come over and mow. The next week escorting Mary back to her land to feed, we would find a trailer, tractor and Lightnin mowing away. I didn't know until a long time later that Mary nor Lynwood Weiss would ever receive a bill for all that mowing over many years . I found out that Lightnin would work all day then load and haul that equipment to the Weiss place and mow the rest of his daylight hours for friends. May you rest in peace Lightnin.

A very good friend, he loved to hunt and one heck of a water well man. Their are several things I learned from this man before you call them to work on your windmill because other water trough's were dry, make sure you don't have a broken float at another. On a hunting trip to West Texas their was a group of Auodad's asleep on top of a mountain I told him I would like to hunt one of those, he stated to me come on B.J. we will crawl up to the top so you can and that is what we did. It took us about 1 hour to get to the top. Another hunting trip I was on with him we were hunting Nilgai eating a pack of sun flower seeds. I ask him if he had a piece of the stalk in the bag he had and he did, I ask him if I could have it he said yes why, I told him I like the way it taste he said what does it taste like. I said the way I could describe it was the way a Brahman bull breath smell's. He got a kick out of that and laugh. Only you B.J.
